Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on a Norwich City midfielder
Liverpool are keeping an eye on Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell, according to Fichajes, as cited by Anfield Edition's Twitter account.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign. With that being the case, Liverpool could sign Cantwell on a free transfer next summer.
However, apparently Arsenal are also interested in the Englishman.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Cantwell is a promising young player. The 23-year-old midfielder has scored 14 goals and registered 12 assists in 107 appearances for Norwich City's first-team.
Cantwell also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.59 across the 2019-20 Premier League campaign.
Due to the Englishman's age, it would be fair to assume that he is far from the finished article.
Therefore, we would not be against Liverpool making a move for Cantwell, especially as he is available on a free transfer next summer.
Liverpool are a more attractive option than Arsenal right now. The Reds currently sit in second-place on the Premier League table.
The Gunners on the other hand sit in 11th-place on the table. Therefore, if Liverpool and Arsenal are Cantwell's choices, we are confident that he would sign for the Merseyside-based club ahead of the London-based team.
But, who is to say that Cantwell won't re-sign with Norwich City? Only time will tell.
