Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry, according to Sky Germany, as cited by The Transfer Exchange Show's Twitter account.

The report states that the Reds are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old. However, the report further adds that Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keeping an eye on Gnabry.

The Germany international's contract expires in the summer of 2023. Gnabry possesses a current market value of €70 million.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Gnabry is a fine player. The winger has scored 59 goals and registered 38 assists in 154 appearances for Bayern Munich.

Back in August 2020, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was full of praise for Gnabry. His comments help back up our aforementioned argument.

"His stats are phenomenal. He's sitting in the top level, world-class," Ferdinand told BT Sport, as cited by the Daily Mail.

"He's come to Germany and set the place on fire. His decision making has been extraordinary.

"I'll go as far as to say he's one of the most improved players in football at the moment. I don't think anyone's upwards trajectory is as sharp as his.

"From where he was, being discarded by Arsenal and West Brom, to where he is now. Wow."

As we have already pointed out, Gnabry is only 26 years of age, which highlights that he still has plenty of time left in his career. There is a lot to like about the winger.

Therefore, we would love to see Liverpool make a move for Gnabry at some stage in the near future. The Germany international is expected to sign an extension with Bayern Munich.

But, only time will tell if that is to be the case. For the time being, we are just going to enjoy watching the Reds rather than stressing about potential transfers.
