Andy Robertson out to TAKE DOWN Liverpool LEGEND
Andy Robertson has been a mainstay at Liverpool for the past seven years, but it is with Scotland that the 30-year-old made headlines for this week.
The Scotland captain came in clutch for his national team on Monday night, scoring an injury time winner against Poland, sparing his side from automatic relegation in the UEFA Nations League.

Robertson wasn’t the only Red to deliver an impressive performance, with Ben Doak also dazzling, but the left-back’s goal also wasn’t the only thing that made Monday’s win special.
The game against Poland in Warsaw marked Robertson’s 80th cap for Scotland, moving him level with former teammate Darren Fletcher.
After a successful international break with Scotland, the fullback now has his sites set on a record held by Sir Kenny Dalglish.
Robertson eyes Dalglish’s legendary record
The Scotland skipper’s 80th cap means that only Jim Leighton sits between Robbo and Kenny in the all-time caps list for Scotland.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Robertson shared exactly how it feels to move up in Scotland’s honour roll.
“There’s a part of me that still has to pinch myself when I look at the names there, of course there is. I try to live a very normal life in a kind of abnormal world.”
“Look, I love playing for my country. But I see me taking over the likes of Alex McLeish and Paul McStay, you do look and think, ‘These guys were greats of the game’. They are players who my dad and my grandad would always talk to me about.”

The Liverpool man now only sits 22 caps behind club legend Dalglish and he has his eyes on the legend’s record.
“To have a legend like [Dalglish] in your corner with Liverpool and Scotland is a massive help. But I’d love to catch him, I don’t think that’s any secret.”
What does the future hold for Robertson?
The Scot has become an icon at Liverpool since his arrival from Hull in 2017, winning just about every trophy available to him and spending a few seasons as the best in the world in his position.
Dalglish’s record is definitely achievable for Robertson, who is approaching his 31st birthday, and the star also told the Daily Record about his relationship with Kenny.
“I’m lucky to have Kenny in my corner, where I can rely on him for a lot of things. He’s so good with me and my family down in Liverpool. He looks after me, he’s always on the other end of the phone.”
Whether Robertson will still be a Liverpool player if he does break Dalglish’s Scotland record is yet to be seen.
This season has been a difficult one for the left-back, and it is no secret that the Reds are looking for reinforcements in his position.
Anfield Watch recently exclusively revealed that Liverpool have opened talks for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and it can be assumed that any left-back that does make the move to Anfield won’t want to sit on the bench.
This means the door could soon open for a Robertson exit, although the Scot will more than likely want to stay and fight for his place in the team.
Only time will tell if Robertson can beat Dalglish’s record, and if he’ll do so whilst still an Anfield regular, but all Reds will have been pleased to Robertson lighting up the international stage on Monday night.
