Midfielder Adrien Rabiot has reportedly REJECTED the chance to join Liverpool as he wants a contract offer from Manchester United instead.

This is according to Tuttomercato, who are stating that Rabiot’s next move will certainly be to the Premier League.

The midfielder is coming off the back of a European Championships campaign in which he was a starter for France.

His time at Juventus is at an end as he opted to walk away upon the expiry of his contract after making 35 appearances for them in all competitions last season.

RABIOT DEMANDS €10m SALARY

The report on Rabiot’s future states that Liverpool WERE willing to offer the 29-year-old a contract.

However, the former Paris Saint-Germain man only has one team in his sights as he wants to join Manchester United.

The Red Devils have held an interest in Rabiot for a prolonged period of time now so a move for him isn’t a surprise. They have tracked him for several years and the fact he is available for free suits Manchester United.

They have already spent a lot of money this summer on defender Leny Yoro, who is now injured, and Joshua Zirkzee for the striker position. Erik ten Hag's side stole in ahead of Liverpool for Yoro, who was expected to move to Real Madrid.

They are set to offer Rabiot a contract, with the French international demanding €10 million per season.

That kind of money would place Rabiot behind only Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the Anfield pecking order.

Therefore if Liverpool did want to sign him there is no surprise that a deal hasn’t been agreed. It would be a huge surprise if the club were to offer any player close to their thirties that much money.

The Reds are interested in bringing in a midfielder though with Joey Veerman a name on their list after impressing for PSV in the Eredivisie helping them win the league title.

Any deal for a man in the middle will accelerate should Wataru Endo agree to a move away with Ligue 1 side Marseille already having a bid rejected.
