Liverpool youngster Bobby Clark has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The midfielder, who also features regularly in more advanced positions, signed for the Reds from Newcastle United in 2021, becoming a regular for the club's U21s.

Clark has made two senior appearances for Liverpool, a cameo in the 9-0 victory over Bournemouth and a start against Derby County in last season's Carabao Cup.

The youngster also scored for the Reds during pre-season, netting a lovely goal in a 4-0 victory over Leicester City in Singapore. The 18-year-old was impressive in his friendly displays, with Liverpool keen to keep him on Merseyside for the foreseeable future.

Clark has produced five goals and five assists in 31 appearances for the U21s and has also featured for the England U19s.

Speaking about Clark back in April, U21s head coach Barry Lewtas stated: "I’ve been really pleased with him. I don’t think he’s someone who’s really looked upon as one of the younger ones in the group. He’s managed to get through an awful lot of games including international games for his country.

"He’s still got lots to develop and improve but I think he’s done ever so well for us over the course of the season and it probably goes unnoticed that he’s on the team sheet most games. [His positional future] depends on wherever he’s needed by a manager.

"I think what’s really exciting is for someone so young he has shown that he’s able to play in the middle of the park, both in and out of possession. He’s extremely talented and his pressing is excellent."
