Liverpool have a number of options to consider, and Richard Hughes and Arne Slot will want the opportunity to properly make their mark on the playing squad.

Edwards will be on hand to assist too, and his expertise may be needed.

The Reds could be forced into making a move for one of their targets due to interest from other parties, and it would look an awful lot like a deal Liverpool pulled off in 2022.

Liverpool should repeat Diaz trick with Semenyo

According to a report from Caught Offside, Tottenham are ready to accelerate their interest in Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and are preparing a €40 million (£33.6m) offer.

This opens the door for Liverpool to highjack the deal much like they did when Spurs tried to move for Luis Diaz in January 2022.

Diaz was a target for the future, but Tottenham’s interest encouraged the Reds to make a move early, and the same could happen with Semenyo.

The report also states that Arsenal and Manchester United are interested, so Liverpool will have some tough competition.

Would Semenyo be a good fit for Liverpool?

The 25-year-old, who is capable of playing on either side of the attack and occasionally through the middle, could be an ideal candidate to bolster Liverpool’s attack.

With 14 goal involvements in 31 games for Bournemouth this season, Semenyo has shown his potential, and Arne Slot could be the man to elevate him to the next level.

Liverpool will likely receive offers for Diaz, who is a target for Barcelona, and Darwin Nunez, for whom they rejected a £70 million bid in January – as was exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch.

The money recouped from those two sales should be more than enough to bring in Semenyo, who has outscored Nunez this season.

With Liverpool looking likely to win the Premier League, they may have an advantage over the other interested teams and Semenyo would be entering a side that has shown it can win.

Richard Hughes will have the perfect opportunity to get one over on Spurs, who will have lost two targets in the same manner to the same club, and Semenyo could be Liverpool bound in the summer.
