James Milner has had his say on Jurgen Klopp extending his contract with Liverpool until 2026.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Milner has spoken about the impact Klopp has had on the club and how Jurgen extending for another four years is a great thing for the future.

“I mean, he’s not a bad manager is he, let’s be honest! The career he had before and the job he’s done, it’s been great to be a part of that process and see it step by step, the changes and seeing how the team has evolved," said Milner.

“It’s been amazing to be here and to see the work he has done, and Pep and the other staff as well, so it’s fantastic news for the club and hopefully we can keep putting trophies on the board.

“He’s done an incredible job and the longer he’s here, the better for the club. It’s a credit to everyone. We’ve been lucky enough to win one trophy this year but if we don’t win anything else it’s an average season for the club.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

With Klopp and his coaching staff extending until 2026, it secures the future of the club for those four years and it also continues the German's legacy.

He has already revolutionised the whole club and with another four seasons at the helm who knows what else he could do at Liverpool.

Klopp has already started creating his new Liverpool team for the future after signing the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Fabio Carvalho, who is expected to come in this summer.

The news is huge for another reason. It means that new players know that they will be coached by Klopp if they come in this season and four years is a fairly long time in managerial terms.

The next four years are bound to be very exciting if you're a Liverpool fan!
