La Liga ambassador confirms Real Madrid Dominik Szoboszlai stance
At an exciting event in Budapest for the launch of Vegas Hungary's partnership with La Liga, Real Madrid legend and now La Liga ambassador Guti spoke to journalists about Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
Guti was asked whether Szoboszlai was of interest to Real Madrid, which many people in Hungary see as the ultimate goal for the 24-year-old since the greatest ever Hungarian footballer of all time Ferenc Puskas represented the Spanish giants for many years.
Following in his footsteps would be the dream for Hungarian fans, but for now Szoboszlai is very content and settled at Liverpool and he certainly sees Anfield as his ultimate destination rather than a stepping stone.
Nonetheless, speaking to journalists at the even including Anfield Watch, Guti revealed Real Madrid would welcome Szoboszlai with 'open arms' if the opportunity arose to sign him.
"He's at a huge club, so maybe he's already halfway achieved his goal. For me, the best is definitely Real Madrid and those who support Real. They not only have to be good players, but they also have to have the right personality to wear this jersey," Guti explained to the media on Tuesday.
"The best footballers play at Real. If he is one of them, then hopefully everything will go well in the near future, and of course we will welcome him with open arms," Guti concluded.
These are very interesting words from the former Real Madrid man. Guti spent over to two decades at the Spanish club and he now works as an ambassador for La Liga.
