Kylian Mbappe 'really, really likes' Liverpool

Kylian Mbappe 'really likes' Liverpool, according to journalist Julien Laurens.

The superstar French forward's future remains up in the air, as he enters the final months of his Paris Saint-Germain contract.

As of January, Mbappe is now able to discuss contract terms with foreign clubs, though PSG remain hopeful of extending their star asset's deal in the French capital.

Real Madrid have long been seen as the most likely next destination for the 2018 World Cup winner, though recent reports suggest the Spanish giants may have gotten cold feet over the massive financial outlay required.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are regularly cited as another possible option for Mbappe.

Jurgen Klopp, famously, met with the forward back in his Monaco days, before he opted to move to PSG, while the player's mother is said to be a Liverpool fan.

Earlier this week, Mbappe told reporters that he has yet to make a decision on his future, while PSG coach Luis Enrique admitted the matter was out of his hands.

Meanwhile, French journalist Laurens has told BBC Five Live Sport that Liverpool is a 'less likely' option for Mbappe, though the 25-year-old does 'really, really' like the Reds.

“I really believe him when he says he hasn’t decided yet," Laurens said.

“If he wants to stay a little bit longer or go somewhere else in the summer else as a free agent, Madrid very likely, Liverpool, less likely but, that’s another team he really, really likes.”

Anfield Watch has previously reported that Liverpool would only pursue a possible move for Mbappe in the event that Mohamed Salah were to leave the club.

Salah, whose contract expires in 2025, has been regularly linked with the Saudi Pro League. However, the Egyptian is open to signing another renewal at Anfield, extending his stay.

The massive huge finances involved in even a 'free' transfer for Mbappe make a Liverpool transfer highly unlikely, with Jurgen Klopp insisting that he 'laughed' about rumours during the last summer transfer window.

"We laugh about it," Klopp told Sky Germany. "I can say that I think he's a really good player but the financial conditions don't suit us at all. I wouldn't like to ruin the story now... but as far as I know, there's nothing to it."
