Liverpool-linked Kylian Mbappe has admitted he will leave Paris Saint-Germain at some point in the future, as he focusses on his 'own path'.

The 25-year-old superstar is now into the final six months of his PSG deal and, as such, can discuss terms with foreign suitors over a summer deal, should he wish.

Real Madrid have long been seen as the frontrunners to land Mbappe if and when he finally leaves France, though Liverpool are regularly mentioned as another option.

One report recently claimed the former Monaco star 'really, really likes' the Reds, while another revealed Liverpool have never broken contact with the forward's entourage, boosting faint hopes of an audacious summer move.

Publicly the forward has previously insisted he is yet to make a decision on his next contract, while PSG have not given up hope of retaining their star asset.

One report even claimed that the France captain could be offered €100m a year to remain in the French capital, a figure no other club could match.

Now the cover star of GQ France this February, Mbappe stayed coy on his future but revealed he is not planning to stay in Paris for his entire career.

Discussing the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar from PSG, Mbappe told the magazine: “Many great players who have shaped the history of football have left Europe this summer and we are entering a new era.

“It’s become part of the cycle of this sport and at some point it will be my turn to leave. I’m not worried about these changes. I’m simply thinking about continuing my career and following my own path.”

Anfield Watch understands that while Liverpool and Mbappe have flirted over the years, the Reds would only entertain a move for the man who finished third in the 2023 Ballon d'Or rankings in the event that top earner Salah were to leave the club in the summer.

However, with the 31-year-old Egyptian now leaning towards a contract renewal, despite interest from Saudi Arabia, the possibility of competing for Mbappe appears increasingly remote.
