"Klopp has the ability" - Pundit on what Jurgen Klopp has planned for Darwin Nunez

Former England international Paul Robinson thinks that fans will see what Jurgen Klopp's plans are for Darwin Nunez early on next season.

After signing the striker for €100 million, some Liverpool fans have been disappointed with the Uruguayan's opening two games during pre-season.

However, one pundit thinks that supporters need to trust Klopp and what he has in store for Nunez.

“You will see very early on what the manager’s plans are for him,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“Klopp has got a natural ability of seeing a player’s character and seeing what he is capable of and ready for.

“Some players he gives time to and some players he breaks into the side gently.

“The likes of (Luis) Diaz and (Virgil) van Dijk have come straight into the side. I cannot think of a January signing having more of an impact than Van Dijk. Both of those players looked like they had been at Liverpool for two or three seasons.

“Klopp has the ability to do that. We will see in the first two games of the season as to what Klopp’s plans are for Nunez.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Since Klopp has arrived at Anfield, he hasn't had a transfer fail on him. Even the worst transfers during the German's tenure have been decent.

Loris Karius was solid before his horrendous performance against Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final. Takumi Minamino helped us win a few trophies.

For that reason, Klopp would not have spent €100 million on a striker that he didn't truly believe in.

As Robinson implied, we will see the best of Nunez in the near future. Liverpool's first game of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign is against Fulham at Craven Cottage on the 6th of August.

We can't wait for the action to begin.
