Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update on Reds forward Roberto Firmino.

The Brazil international suffered a hamstring injury at the beginning of November. Firmino has not played for Liverpool since.

However, Klopp has confirmed that the 30-year-old should return to training relatively soon.

As quoted by the club's official website, Klopp said the following on November 30: "Bobby is good but he is still a couple of weeks away from being fully back, but he is doing pretty much everything just with the extent of the injury we have to be careful, but it’s all fine.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Liverpool signed Firmino from Hoffenheim for a transfer fee of €41 million back in the summer of 2015.

The striker has certainly lived up to the aforementioned price tag. Firmino has scored 93 goals and registered 70 assists in 303 appearances for the Reds.

The Brazil international has also won four major trophies with Liverpool. Therefore, we do look forward to seeing Firmino back out on the pitch.

Going by Klopp's update, the striker should return to training sometime next week. But, only time will tell if that is to be the case.

On another note, Liverpool will welcome Aston Villa to Anfield on Saturday. The Premier League fixture will kick-off at 03:00 pm.
