Jurgen Klopp had two digs at Nottingham Forest fans after they chanted about Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan certainly had the last laugh.

Darwin Nunez made his return for Liverpool on Saturday, coming on in the second half against Nottingham Forest. The Uruguayan made an immediate impact, with the Reds looking brighter from the moment he was on the pitch.

Of course, Nunez existing also gave Forest fans something to sing about. They went with 'you're just a not-very-good Andy Carroll', or words to that effect, plucked straight from the You're Playing Liverpool song sheet.

It's a common attempt to get under Nunez's skin and one that rarely throws him off. Maybe that's because his English isn't great, maybe it's because it fires him up. Either way, they didn't exactly make him shrink.

Nunez popped up with the winner, deep into stoppage time. He headed home from Alexis Mac Allister's cross to earn Liverpool the three points, send Reds into raptures, and leave Forest fans booing for reasons that weren't immediately clear.

After the game, Jurgen Klopp took the opportunity to have two little digs at Forest fans for their chants.

"In the last second the guy who looks like a former Liverpool player thought I'll score a goal and decide the game," is how the boss described the winner to the BBC.

He later offered some advice to fans in the future. "I would not sing a song like that," he said, per David Lynch. "I would not try to wind Darwin up."

Fans continue to do just that, however, and it pretty much always backfires. Nunez has now scored winners in six games this season - something Andy Carroll struggled to do - and is one of the most effective players in the Premier League right now.

Long may it all continue, then.
