Jurgen Klopp has revealed that his biggest mistake was not signing Tottenham forward Son Heung-min.

There are a few players that the majority of Liverpool fans all agree would be great signings for Jurgen Klopp's side and one of those has always been Tottenham's Son Heung-min.

Now, in a recent interview with KBS News, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the Liverpool manager has said that the biggest 'mistake' of his life was not signing the South Korean.

"One of the biggest mistakes in my life was not signing him. Outstanding, world-class, one of the best strikers in the world. I heard he’ll be alright [from his injury]. Maybe [he'll] need to wear a mask, but even with a mask, he’ll be fine!"

Anfield Watch Verdict

To hear Jurgen Klopp say this will break a lot of Liverpool fans' hearts as the Spurs player was someone that so many Reds fans wanted us to buy.

However, with the asking price that Tottenham would want from him and the fact he is now 30-years-old, the transfer would not make sense for the Reds anymore.

Despite his age now though, the South Korean has racked up an impressive 96 goals and 48 assists in 245 games for the Lilywhites, a figure that proves he will go down as one of the better Premier League forwards.

Son also only just signed a new deal with Spurs last summer that will keep him in North London until 2025. A deal that will see the South Korean spend the latter parts of his career with Antonio Conte's side though.

Who knows though, maybe Klopp pushes for a move, especially if we have new owners soon. Maybe he signs Son after his contract ends and brings him in as a back-up and mentor for young players. Stranger things have happened.
