Liverpool are a fourth of the way to winning the quadruple this season and in his recent pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has spoken about the possibility of it happening.

With Liverpool winning the EFL Cup on Sunday against Chelsea, Jurgen Klopp's side are the only English side who can win the historic quadruple.

No English team has ever completed this achievement. In recent history, only Pep Guardiola's Manchester City have come close to achieving it.

Klopp's side are still in the Premier League title race against City, the Reds also look like the favourites to advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and they're still in the running for the FA Cup.

Speaking in his pre-Norwich press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch, the German manager spoke about the possibility of winning the quadruple and how hard it will be.

"No team in the history of English football ever won the quadruple, right? Because it's really difficult. We are not even close to thinking about any crazy stuff like that," said Klopp.

"If people think we have a chance, they see it as a compliment but I don't see it as a compliment. We face a lot of really good football teams between now and the end of May.

"Even City, with all the quality they have - over the past few years, they couldn't win it, That shows how difficult it is.

"The reality is that to win something you have to be focused on the next step and not the one after that. That's what we do."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Winning the quadruple would put this Liverpool side and Klopp in the history books forever.

It is an achievement that has eluded some of the best managers to ever grace the Premier League, from Sir Alex Ferguson to Pep Guardiola, no one is yet to achieve it.

This is the year to do it for Liverpool. They have handled all their injury issues very well and currently, there are only two players on the sideline, Thiago Alcantara and Roberto Firmino.

It's definitely not out of the realms of possibility that they win it but it will be very difficult indeed.
