Jurgen Klopp sets simply unbelievable Boxing Day record

Jurgen Klopp has extended his incredible Premier League Boxing Day record with Liverpool's 2-0 win over Burnley. The boss is on another level.

Liverpool saw off Burnley on Boxing Day to climb to the top of the Premier League. The 2-0 win, thanks to goals from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota, and ended a mini win drought.

The Reds had drawn back-to-back Premier League games against Manchester United and Arsenal, after all. With this, they're back on track.

And also with this, Jurgen Klopp set a new Premier League record. The Liverpool boss now boasts the best Boxing Day record in competition history, with six straight wins.

No manager can boast more wins at a 100 per cent success rate. Even more than that, Klopp's Liverpool have 19 goals in those six games, conceding just once.

Does it mean all that much? Not really - it's just one game per season. But at the same time, it shows how consistent Klopp has kept his Liverpool team to hold onto a record like this.

It's one he'll be expected to extend next year, too, as this is a team that should only improve over the next 365 days. Seven back-to-back wins, then? Klopp could be on his way to setting an unassailable record.

Liverpool moved top of the Premier League with their win over Burnley. It means that after 19 games (the halfway point for those not wanting to count), the Reds are well and truly in a title race.

Arsenal can regain top spot on Thursday against West Ham, making them the official leaders at halfway. For now, though, the Reds can sit at the top with a six-day break before facing Newcastle United on New Year's Day.

Providing there's no collapse from here until May, Klopp's team will have the Premier League title in their sights.
