Jurgen Klopp says there's 'a lot of space for improvement' after Luis Diaz VAR decision

Luis Diaz was taken out by Robert Sanchez when he opened the scoring for Liverpool and despite VAR looking at the decision, a red card was not awarded and now Jurgen Klopp has given his thoughts on it.

After Diaz scored the opening goal for Liverpool against Brighton and Hove Albion, there was a massive discussion as to whether Sanchez should've been shown a red card for his follow-through of the Colombian.

Most people seemed to at least agree that Stuart Attwell, the VAR assistant, should've sent Mike Dean over to the monitor to make his own decision.

However, that never happened and Sanchez escaped with not even a yellow card to his name.

After the game, Klopp was asked about the red card situation, as cited by Anfield Watch.

"I cannot say anything, I only saw it once," said Klopp. "I haven't seen it back so I don't know if it's a red. It is a good example of the VAR issues we still have.

"If everyone asks me if it was a red you know it probably was. For what reason was it not a red? We have a screen to tell us. Why do we have these discussions still after games?

"In general, there's a lot of space for [VAR] improvement."

This is yet another decision that shows the incompetence of English referees.

Even if you don't think that it was a red card, you have to admit at the very least that Mike Dean has to go over to the monitor to see the challenge himself.

Klopp said it perfectly though, why are we discussing this after games? VAR was brought in to stop these controversial calls yet since its arrival in England, there has been nothing but controversy surrounding it.
