Jurgen Klopp will have a chance to meet up with an old friend this weekend as Liverpool take on Norwich in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Canaries won their third-round replay against Bristol Rovers 3-1 to set up the tie at Anfield on Sunday which pits Klopp against the best man from his wedding: David Wagner.

The former Huddersfield Town manager is a close friend of Klopp's from their days together at Mainz, and the 52-year-old former striker admitted he was looking forward to catching up with the Reds boss, following his side's victory over Bristol Rovers.

Wagner said: "I haven’t seen Jurgen in person since his birthday party last year so it will be great to have a bit of reunion with him.

"But it’s not about us and above all it’s all about making sure my team go to Anfield and do Norwich City proud."

Asked about the side-story of the two old friends coming together again, Klopp revealed that he had already spoken with Wagner about the tie – with the Norwich boss even putting in a special request.

"I enjoy it [facing Wagner] a lot," Klopp said in his pre-match press conference.

"We had already conversations about it. He asked me for massive rotation (laughs). I told him: 'that doesn't help!'"

Klopp continued: "[He's doing a] really good job, but really difficult job.

"I follow it as much as I can and I'm interested in everything that he's doing and it's cool that we have the game.

"Obviously, when he was at Huddersfield he had a lot of games here and when they didn't play he was here, and now he's back. He didn't see the new stand I don't think, no.

"And we didn't see each other for a long time. The last time would've probably been in the summer. It's good to catch up and lock horns again."

Klopp has a very favourable record against his friend, winning all three of the games they've played against each other as managers.
