Jurgen Klopp reveals half-time changes that helped Liverpool demolish Bournemouth

Jurgen Klopp has revealed the half-time tweaks he made that helped propel Liverpool to their 4-0 mauling of Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.

After a cagey and goalless first half, Liverpool came flying out of the blocks in the second, with Darwin Nunez putting the Reds in front just four minutes after the break.

Diogo Jota then grabbed himself a brace, with Nunez netting a late fourth to add some more gloss to the scoreline.

However, the second-half may not have been so fruitful for Liverpool if it wasn't for the clever tactical alterations made by Klopp, who re-jigged his front three at the break.

Speaking after the match, Klopp revealed exactly what he changed to get the Reds firing, saying: "Look, in the situation we are in, without Mo, we have to find a way and we have players who can play on the right wing, and they can all play there but it is about which is the best position and how do we set up the rest around.

"Darwin can obviously play on the left wing, he has done it before but he played there, Joey (Gomez) was a bit deeper and protecting, so we were waiting too long for balls in behind and were not involved much.

"Lucho (Diaz) struggled slightly on the right wing and Diogo had an OK game [first half], but we decided to bring Darwin into his 1A position and asked Diogo to do the job there [on the right].

"Diogo has played that right wing before and is a pretty smart player, but in general we just started playing better. In midfield as well, and that's important.

"I am not 100% sure which goal we scored after we won the ball back but that wouldn't have happened in the first half because we didn't push up."

Klopp's in-game management has been phenomenal this season, often proving the difference for the Reds in the second half of games - as was the case against the Cherries at the weekend.

Liverpool have now scored 30 goals in the second half of Premier League matches this season, more than any other side in the division.

The Reds have also netted 19 goals from the 75th minute onwards this term, once again more than any other side.

In Liverpool's last four matches, they have been drawing or trailing at half-time, yet have won all of them as Klopp continues to work his magic on the touchline.
