Jurgen Klopp refuses to comment on early kick-off - 'I love playing at 12.30!'

Liverpool coach gave reporters little to mull over when asked his thoughts (again) about having to face Manchester City this Saturday in the 12.30pm kick-off slot following the international break.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday, a clearly agitated Klopp said: "My English isn’t good enough to waste our time to make sure you understand, so why should I waste my time or your time?"

Liverpool's clash at the Etihad this weekend will be the Reds' third Saturday lunchtime kick-off following the international break this season alone.

Overall, the total number rises to 14 since Jürgen Klopp took over as coach in October 2015 (more than double the number of the second-placed team, Spurs on six), and this has led to widespread criticism of the fixture-makers - none more so than from Klopp himself.

'Nobody wants to hear it'

The German then referenced his compatriot and Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel and his response to a similar question recently.

"About the general schedule, Thomas Tuchel explained completely calm a situation why it’s difficult to be a high-quality footballer with the national team, and a German newspaper went 'Tuchel had a rant'," he said.

"I watched it and thought 'if that’s a rant…' He was completely calm, and they have lesser games than we have in England."

A resigned Klopp then added: "Nobody wants to hear it, you don’t want to hear it. Whatever I say, you always say ‘is there that much difference?'"

Then, in a mic-drop moment, Klopp exited the press room, to the amusement of the attending journalists, saying: "I love playing at 12.30!"

Should Liverpool beat Manchester City to go top of the Premier League, it would certainly give Klopp little to complain about.
