Speaking in his press conference ahead of the Arsenal game on Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp has provided a fitness update on Mohamed Salah.

Mo Salah picked up a knock against Brighton and Hove Albion in the second half and Klopp was forced to substitute the Egyptian.

Then, on Monday, Salah was not seen in training with all of the other first-team players, casting doubts over if he would be available for the Arsenal game on Wednesday.

However, Klopp has confirmed in his pre-Arsenal press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch, that he is ready to return back to training ahead of tomorrow's fixture.

"Mo is a tough cookie. We were quite happy and lucky. Swollen, painful, today less so. Got a message before the presser he's ready to train. We'll see how that looks."

Anfield Watch Verdict

This is great news for Liverpool fans and terrible news for Arsenal fans. Since playing for the Reds, Salah has scored seven goals and grabbed four assists in nine games against the Gunners.

Even if he is only fit enough for the bench on Wednesday that is better than nothing. The impact the Egyptian can have against a fairly open Arsenal side could be massive.

Also, as crazy as this sounds, Salah's absence from the matchday team won't be missed as much as it would've been a couple of seasons ago.

Sadio Mane has found his goalscoring form again, Diogo Jota is having the best season of his career, Roberto Firmino is back fit and we know how much he loves a goal against Arsenal and Luis Diaz has been unbelievable since he signed for the Reds in January.

However, if Salah is fit enough to start against Mikel Arteta's side then Klopp will surely start the Egyptian.
