Jurgen Klopp provides injury update on Harvey Elliott
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update on Reds midfielder Harvey Elliott.
The 18-year-old suffered a serious ankle injury against Leeds United at Elland Road back in mid-September.
Elliott has not played a game of competitive football since. However, the Englishman is on the mend, according to Klopp.
The German further added that Elliott's mentality towards his rehabilitation has been superb.
As quoted by LFC Transfer Room's Twitter account, Klopp said the following: “He’s great, Harvey’s great. I have no idea when exactly it’ll be [his return to football], but we can’t wait actually. It looks really good. “Whichever person you speak to from the rehab department, you hear that he is so determined, he is really very positive all the time with us here. It is nice to see him smiling the whole day and working hard. He will be back, but how soon I don’t know.”ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Elliott was playing quite well before his injury. The 18-year-old averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.59 in Liverpool's opening four Premier League fixtures of the new season.
The aforementioned figure highlights that Elliott was starting to find his feet at the top level. Therefore, it was heartbreaking when the Englishman went down with his injury.
But, it is great to hear that Elliott is on the mend. It will be great to see the youngster back out on the pitch. Only time will tell when that will be.
