Jurgen Klopp provides an injury update ahead of the Manchester City FA Cup game
Jurgen Klopp has spoken about any potential injuries ahead of the FA Cup semi-final tie against Manchester City on Saturday.
Speaking in his pre-Manchester City press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp said that Diogo Jota is the only injury scare at the moment.
"Diogo has a slight knock but there is a good chance he will be all right - but we need to have a closer look tomorrow. That is it."
Anfield Watch Verdict
Thankfully Jota's injury only seems to be minor. If he does have to sit out of Saturday's game then Klopp has more than enough firepower to help cover the Portuguese’s absence.
Luis Diaz played amazing on the right-hand side against Benfica last night and Roberto Firmino looked like his old self linking up play and also getting two goals.
Sadio Mane has also looked sharp since coming back from AFCON, scoring six goals since helping Senegal lift the trophy.
Even though Mohamed Salah hasn't been his usual self since the turn of the year, the Egyptian is still one of the best players in the world.
In his most recent press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp spoke about if Salah is feeling the effects of the sheer amount of football games that he's played this season.
"It's just logical. If you sleep 4 nights in the week for only 2 hours a night, it's natural you will feel it on the 5th night. I have to make decisions. Just make it - deal with it, right or wrong."
The Egyptian looked very sharp during the second half of the Manchester City game last Sunday so hopefully, we can see that same Mo Salah this Saturday in the FA Cup semi-final.
