Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update in his recent pre-Brighton press conference.

Liverpool have had a fairly fit squad for a few weeks now.

The only noticeable absentees have been Roberto Firmino, who has been out since the first leg of the Milan game and Ibrahima Konate, who missed the most recent fixture after picking up a knock in training.

Ahead of the Brighton game, Klopp has said that Firmino is back and also confirmed there are no new injury concerns, as cited by Anfield Watch.

"We have a few little things, COVID is also not over," said Klopp.

"We try everything to avoid it but it is not really possible. Players and staff had no symptoms, but they can't be involved. We will see.

"There is no news injury-wise, they should all be ready."

When asked about Firmino's fitness, Klopp confirmed he is ready to again: "He is back."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Having Firmino back is going to be a big boost for the team.

The Brazilian offers something different that no one else does and even though he isn't a starter anymore, the impact he can provide off the bench is massive.

Liverpool could have done with Firmino against Inter Milan on Tuesday to help break down the stubborn Milan defence.

It also sounds like Liverpool are struggling with COVID once again, however, nobody has any symptoms.

Konate is also expected to be back to face Brighton, even if it's just appearing on the bench.

The Frenchman was not included in the squad against Milan as a precaution for a knock he picked up during a training session.

Luckily, the Reds have February's Premier League Player of the Month, Joel Matip, to play alongside Virgil van Dijk on the weekend.
