Jurgen Klopp nominated for Premier League Manager of the Month – August
Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp has been nominated for the Premier League's first Manager of the Month award of the season.
Klopp joins Mikel Arteta, Pep Guardiola, David Moyes and Ange Postecoglu on a five-man shortlist for the August award.
Klopp earned his place on the list after his Liverpool side made an unbeaten start to the new season, with two wins and a draw to kick off 2023/24.
After an away draw against Chelsea (1-1), Liverpool recorded wins over Bournemouth (3-1) and Newcastle (2-1), with the latter result particularly impressive. The Reds came from a goal down at St. James' Park to beat Eddie Howe's side, despite Virgil van Dijk's sending off.
Klopp reorganised his side, who played for over an hour with ten men against Newcastle, and brought on Darwin Nuñez who scored a late brace to secure three points on the road.
The win also marked a Premier League record, with Klopp the first manager to record 11 consecutive victories over another manager.
