Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp has won the Premier League Manager of the Season award for a second time.

While accepting this award, the German thanked his backroom team, calling them the "best coaching staff in the world".

“It was a bit nervy (the final day of the Premier League season), it wasn't the best outcome for us, but we are over it. And when you win a prize like this you are either a genius, or you have the best coaching staff in the world," Klopp said, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

"I am here with four of my coaching staff, and they know how much I appreciate them.

“It is a great honour and it was an insane season. The last matchday when only two games were meaningless and in the rest, we all played for absolutely everything.

“This being voted for by my colleagues is obviously most important prize you can get. I don't believe in individual prizes in football generally, it is a team sport and I would be nothing without these boys there.

“It is all about what we can do together and what we did together.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

There has been a massive outcry, mainly by opposition fans, about Klopp receiving this award.

At the end of the day, this prize is awarded by all of the other managers in the Premier League and they clearly think that the German has been the best in the league this season.

Yes, Klopp didn't win the league, but he's coming up against a club (Manchester City) that can spend ÂŁ100 million on a bench-warmer. The 54-year-old also pushed them to the final day of the campaign, all while clawing back a 14-point gap. He deserves a lot of credit.

This is the second time Klopp has won the award. He won it after Liverpool claimed their first Premier League title in the 2019-20 season.

With his newly signed contract, hopefully there will be many more of these awards for Klopp to collect in the future.
