In his pre-match press conference for Sunday's game against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool will be missing some key players.

Before the Arsenal game on Wednesday, Klopp confirmed that they had a few illnesses to deal with ahead of the game.

James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas both missed out due to sickness, however, it was not specified if it was COVID or not.

Now, Klopp has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss Sunday's game.

Speaking in his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference, as quoted by Anfield Watch, the German confirmed that the Scouser has a hamstring issue.

"We have some issues from the last game. Some are ill. Trent is out," said Klopp.

“Trent is out with a hamstring injury which will also keep him out of England duty. We need to see how long. Mo felt his foot again so we have to see what happens."

When asked how long this injury will keep him out for, Klopp said; "weeks."

Jurgen also spoke about how influential Trent is and said it will be 'difficult' to replace him.

"We will see how long it will take. To replace him is difficult but it's possible. We have Milner, Gomez, these kind of things. Trent is so influential but Milner has done incredibly well in the past. We'll see how Milly is for Sunday."

Anfield Watch Verdict

It's never ideal for a player to get an injury but it couldn't have come at a better time for Liverpool if he was going to get one.

The Scouser was never going to play against Forst on Sunday and after that game, teams will stop playing domestically as there is an international break for two weeks.

Hopefully, the injury isn't too much of a concern as Trent is probably the most influential Liverpool player currently and losing him would be massive in regards to the Reds' title charge.
