Jurgen Klopp confirms that Liverpool star could be available for selection against Foxes
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that winger Mohamed Salah could be available for the club's Premier League clash against Leicester City at Anfield on Thursday night.
The 29-year-old has not represented the Reds since the beginning of January due to Africa Cup of Nations duty.
Salah's Egypt lost the AFCON final to Senegal on penalties last Sunday. Klopp has stated that the forward has since returned to Liverpool and could feature against the Foxes.
The German told the club's official website the following: “Mo is now back, I spoke already to him. He is very disappointed of course, but looking forward to all the things coming up here now. I spoke to him and pretty much the first thing Mo told me was: ‘I’m ready.’”
Klopp added: “He is an experienced player, he is a physical monster, to be honest, so we have to see. He will obviously have a little recovery session today and we will see how he feels tomorrow and from there we go.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
It is understandable that Salah is a little bit upset after losing the Africa Cup of Nations final. But, he needs to put the match behind him.
On another note, we are delighted to hear that Salah is back. The winger is a world-class player. Salah has won the Premier League Golden Boot on two occasions, which backs up the aforementioned argument.
It has been far too long since we have seen the forward represent Liverpool. Therefore, hopefully we see Salah back out on the pitch against Leicester City on Thursday night.
Liverpool currently sit in second-place on the Premier League table. Leicester City on the other hand sit in 10th-place.
The Premier League clash between the Reds and the Foxes will kick-off at 07:45pm.
