Journalist reveals what Mohamed Salah is demanding in his new contract
The Telegraph's Chris Bascombe has revealed, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, how much Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is hoping to be paid per-week.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed back in August that the Egyptian international and the club were in talks regarding a new contract.
However, both parties are yet to agree terms. According to Bascombe, Salah would like to be paid £400,000 a week.
The 29-year-old's current contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Anfield Watch Verdict
We believe that Salah deserves to be paid very well. The reality is, the winger has scored 148 goals and registered 52 assists in 229 appearances for Liverpool.
Salah has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.73 throughout the 2021-22 club campaign.
Therefore, we would like the club to give the Egyptian international what he wants. At the end of the day, we don't want Salah to depart Liverpool because the club did not pay him accordingly.
The forward would be irreplaceable in the short-term.
