Jordan Henderson was full of praise for a 25-year-old Red last weekend
Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has recently praised teammate Luis Diaz.
The Reds signed the winger from Porto for an initial transfer fee of £37 million last month.
Diaz has made four appearances for Liverpool's senior team since. The 25-year-old scored his first goal for the club against Norwich City at Anfield last weekend.
Once the Premier League match concluded, Henderson had plenty of good things to say the Colombia international.
The Englishman told BBC Sport the following: “He’s been brilliant since he came in. His work rate in training and games. His quality as well one versus one. His finishing you can see is top drawer as well.
“So I’m really pleased for him. Hopefully that will give him a boost in confidence to keep going.”
Liverpool defeated Norwich City 3-1.
Anfield Watch Verdict
We were not shocked to see Diaz find the back of the net against Norwich City. The winger scored 41 goals and registered 19 assists in 125 appearances for Porto's first-team.
The aforementioned figures highlight that Diaz does possess end product in his game.
As we have already pointed out, the Colombia international is only 25 years of age. Therefore, it would be fair to assume that he is not quite the finished article, which is exciting.
We only expect Diaz to improve under the guidance of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp. The German has a track record of improving players.
As quoted by Planet Football, Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino had the following to say about Klopp: “I think I improved a lot in every way: physically, tactically, mentally, I learned a bit of every aspect.
“I am never tired of praising Klopp. He has so many good things on and off the pitch. He really helps us on a daily basis, we learn so much from him in every way.”
With that being the case, we look forward to seeing how Diaz develops over the next few years.
