Jordan Henderson has thanked the Liverpool fans for their amazing support after what he called an "extraordinary season".

The Liverpool captain spoke positively about the 2021-22 campaign despite the unfortunate end his team faced in the Premier League and Champions League.

“Took me a few days to reflect on the whole season and looking back what an extraordinary season it was. Couldn't be more proud of my teammates and everything that we’ve given this season," Henderson said on his Instagram, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

“Thank you to all the fans who’ve supported us throughout, together we have shared moments that will be remembered forever. Didn't end the way we wanted of course but that's football. We are Liverpool and will be back stronger.

“Enjoy the break. See you all again soon to create more memories together.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

This season ended in heartbreak, but you also have to look at the positives.

We are the first-ever English side to reach all three major finals and take the league down to the final day.

We also won two trophies this season. Yes, they weren't the most desired ones, but they're two trophies that'll go down in our history forever.

Also, Jurgen Klopp's contract extension has secured our future as a genuine challenger for the major trophies.

Hopefully the lads can get over this speed bump and push on next season.

It's a very exciting time to be a Liverpool fan and we shouldn't let what happened during the last week of the season ruin all the hard work the players have put in over the years.
