Jordan Henderson reacts to Liverpool's 2-2 draw against Manchester City

Liverpool came away with a point from the Etihad and Jordan Henderson has given his thoughts on the game.

Speaking after the game to Sky Sports, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the Liverpool captain said it's 'not the end of the world' that the Reds didn't get the three points.

"It was an intense game - we knew it would be. We knew it would be tough. City are a fantastic team. We wanted to win but we didn't lose - it's not the end of the world. We are still in the race."

Liverpool were very uncharacteristic with their passing during the first half and Hendo admitted that it was 'hectic' at times but once they settled down they started playing well.

"We started okay but we were a little bit hectic at times. We knew we were going to come under pressure. They are a fantastic team, but once we settled down, it caused them problems.

"We showed a lot of character to come back twice. You have to stay positive and stay on the front foot."

Finally, Henderson was asked if he thinks Liverpool can still win the league after the 2-2 draw against Man City today.

"We will have to wait and see," said Hendo. "They didn't drop many points - we know that, but we just have to focus on ourselves. There is still a lot of football to play."

Anfield Watch Verdict

It's a shame that Liverpool aren't going to return to Merseyside with all three points. However, one point is better than none.

Most of us will admit that City should've won that game. Thankfully, we have the best goalkeeper in the world and he kept us in the game. Something he's been doing all season.

This isn't the end of Liverpool's title charge, it just means that we have to rely on other teams to do us a favour, something that Jurgen Klopp definitely wouldn't have wanted to do.
