Former Red Jamie Redknapp believes that Tottenham Hotspur could cause Liverpool a few problems in the Premier League next month.

The Reds, who are one-point behind league leaders Manchester City with seven games to go, are set to face Spurs at Anfield on the 7th of May.

Redknapp has implied that the aforementioned fixture could prove to be Liverpool's most difficult game in the run in for the title.

The 48-year-old told the Daily Mail the following: “I find this title race impossible to call.

"I’ve got this feeling Liverpool v Tottenham on May 7 will be significant. Can (Jurgen) Klopp’s crew navigate that one? That might be the match which poses them a major problem."

Anfield Watch Verdict

We can see where Redknapp is coming from. Tottenham Hotspur are a decent side. They sit in fourth-place on the Premier League table.

Spurs did play well against Liverpool earlier on in the season. They secured a 2-2 draw against the Reds in North London.

Also, Tottenham Hotspur have defeated Manchester City twice in the league this season.

So, Redknapp is spot on in saying that Antonio Conte's team could cause Liverpool a few problems next month.

But, the Reds are a top side. There is a reason why they have won the two biggest trophies in club football in the past three years - the UEFA Champions League and Premier League title.

So, we are confident that Liverpool can get the job done against Tottenham Hotspur in the run in for the title. However, there is plenty of football to play before that particular fixture comes around.

Liverpool will face Benfica in the Champions League (quarter-final, second leg) at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Come the weekend, the Reds will face off against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium for a place in the FA Cup final.
