Liverpool midfielder James Milner has revealed what his greatest achievements are as a Red.

The club signed the Englishman from Manchester City on a free transfer back in the summer of 2015.

Since then, Milner has gone on to score 26 goals and register 44 assists in 282 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

The 36-year-old has also won five major trophies with the Reds.

However, Milner has revealed that winning the Premier League title and the Champions League with Liverpool are his greatest achievements during his time at the club.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, he told the club's official website the following: “It has to be winning the Premier League and winning the Champions League. It's hard to pick one but those two moments were such big moments in the history of the club. “Finally getting the Premier League after a big break with the club winning the league title (30 years) – and being so close the year before when we got 97 points but didn't win it – showed character, especially winning it under the strange circumstances that we did. “It was disappointing not to be able to celebrate it with the fans (due to the pandemic), but those two moments were special because we fought to achieve those as a group and a club.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We can understand why winning the Premier League title and Champions League for Liverpool is special to Milner.

As the Englishman pointed out, before 2020, the club had not won a league title for 30 years. Therefore, it would be a special feeling to be part of the team that ended the drought.

Also, Milner had never won the Champions League before joining Liverpool. So, we can see why winning the European Cup was special for him.

Milner's contract expires at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see if the midfielder and Liverpool agree on new terms.

Milner has made 32 appearances this season, which does highlight that he is still serviceable.
