We hope Mike Tyson knocks out Jake Paul... for THIS

YouTuber boxing has become one of the biggest attractions of the modern sporting world.

And whilst it’s an indication of the way that industry is headed, even we have to admit that we’re intrigued about just what is going to happen when Mike Tyson steps back into the ring for a fight against Liverpool fan Jake Paul tonight.

While we’re not usually in the business of rooting against a fellow Red, Jake Paul cuts the particular type of reprehensible figure that we hope ‘Iron’ Mike can get the business done.

Not least of all because of the manner in which Paul has used Liverpool to his own advantage. He cursed the side before the 1-0 2022 Champions League Final loss against Real Madrid, referring to the match as the ‘Championship Game’ and called out Mo Salah whilst taking one of the most diabolical penalty kicks ever put to video.

In a separate tweet, he referred to the Merseyside derby as the ‘Liverpool rivalry’ which, whilst technically not incorrect, leaves a sour taste in the mouth. He accompanied this tweet with two pictures of him in a full ‘Mo Salah 11’ printed kit.

A 25-year old man at the time.

Worst of all, though, is the fact he hasn’t tweeted any support of Liverpool since January this year. It’s almost as if he’s become a bit preoccupied to keep up the act, like he might be having to prepare for a fight with one of the scariest men to ever step foot inside the squared circle.

If you can’t tell, we don’t much care for Jake Paul. Being a Liverpool fan isn’t something you just step into when you want - it’s a way of life. We are a fanbase that pride ourselves on our authenticity and the sincerity of our support for this great club and the players that represent it.

Jake Paul has done his level best to make us a laughing stock. But we reject this. We reject him, and anyone, that tries to sully our name.

Luckily, he’ll be stood across the ring from Mike Tyson very soon.

How to watch Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson

The fight will air exclusively on Netflix, free for any regular subscribers. This will mark the streaming giant's first foray into the live combat sport world.

The event itself is set to begin at 1am GMT, with the ring walks for Tyson/Paul unofficially expected at around 4am.

The opening three fights of the night on the preliminary card will be streamed live on Most Valuable Promotions’ YouTube channel, Netflix Sports YouTube channel, and Netflix streaming companion Tudum.

Is this a real fight or an exhibition?

Shockingly to many, it’s a real fight – officially sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR).

The fight will take place over eight rounds – each of them lasting two minutes. Both men will wear 14oz boxing gloves, with no headguards.

So the fight will appear on the professional records of both men. It is not, we repeat not, an exhibition.

Weights and weight limit

This is a heavyweight fight, so there is no actual weight limit.

Tyson of course is a former world heavyweight champion and for most of his career he fought at anything between 215lbs and 240lbs – getting gradually heavier as his career wore on.

Paul meanwhile, up until now, has been fighting at cruiserweight. So anything between 190lbs and the official 200lbs limit for cruiser.
