“I’ve dedicated my life to Liverpool" - Jordan Henderson post-League Cup final victory
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said that he has dedicated his life to the club after securing the 2022 League Cup trophy.
The Reds defeated Chelsea 11-10 on penalties at Wembley Stadium last weekend to claim the first prize of the English season.
Henderson, who signed for the club from Sunderland for a transfer fee of €18 million back in July 2011, has now led Liverpool to five major trophies.
After the 2022 League Cup final, the Englishman said that it is special to win silverware for the club that he has dedicated his life to.
As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Henderson told the EFL's official website the following: “I’ve dedicated my life to Liverpool Football Club ever since I arrived. I’m very proud and privileged to be a part of it. I never take it for granted; I’m very honoured and proud to represent Liverpool and to win a trophy is extra special. “It’s always special to win trophies for this football club, no matter what the competition, but it’s really special to win this competition again.”Anfield Watch Verdict
Henderson deserves all the success that he gets. The man has been a fine servant for Liverpool.
Henderson has scored 33 goals and registered 57 assists in 427 appearances for the club's first-team.
The Englishman is also a hard worker out on the pitch and a great role model for the younger generation. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has praised Henderson's character in the past.
As quoted by LFC Transfer Room, the German said the following during a press conference back in November 2021: "Everyone was convinced Hendo was the right captain for me. I only learned about him day by day. After six years of working with him together, he's the perfect choice.
"He's the perfect role model for a footballer and a real leader."
Good people deserve some success. Henderson's contract does not expire until June 2025. Therefore, the midfielder is going nowhere for the time being.
