"It's my team" - Thiago Alcantara on Liverpool Football Club
Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has recently waxed lyrical about the club.
The Reds signed the Spaniard from Bayern Munich for a transfer fee of £19.80 million back in the summer of 2020.
Thiago has implied that he has fallen in love with the Reds.
As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, he told TNT Sports the following: "It’s my team. It’s not just the players, it’s the fans. My family is here, they are already ultra Liverpool fans. So, after all, we end up becoming a family and we try to help each other.
"We came from a not very good, unwanted time (Liverpool's form). But we always believe in this team. The basis of this team is work, so we keep working, we keep improving things that weren’t right. And little by little we grow."
Anfield Watch Verdict
It is brilliant to hear a world-class player speak so positively about the club. It is quite clear that Thiago wants what is best for Liverpool.
We just hope that the midfielder can stay fit for the remainder of the campaign. The Spaniard has struggled with injuries since arriving at Anfield, which means that we haven't always seen the best of him.
There is no denying that Liverpool are a much better side when Thiago plays. He brings class and control to Jurgen Klopp's midfield.
We wish Thiago all the best for the remainder of the season. Liverpool will face Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
The Premier League clash will kick-off at 4:30pm UK time.
