"It’s my dream to play there someday" - USA right-back opens up on desired Liverpool move
USA and KV Oostende right-back Kyle Duncan has opened up on his desire to represent Liverpool Football Club.
The 24-year-old has stated that the Reds are his favourite team. With that being the case, Duncan further added that he would like to play for the club someday.
It is important to note that Liverpool have not genuinely been linked with a move for the defender.
Duncan told KV Oostende’s official website the following: “I would just love to inspire people. There are many young football players like me in America, and I want to show them that you can really make your dreams come true.“If you believe in yourself and you work very hard, you can go far. There are still some players from the US in Germany and even here in Belgium, but my dream competition is the Premier League.
“Liverpool are my favourite team, they really play the type of game I dream of. Yes, it’s my dream to play there someday.
“Whether that will ever happen, I don’t know, but I will continue to work hard to keep taking steps.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
It is nice to hear that players want to represent Liverpool. Duncan is a solid footballer.
Footage of the right-back highlights that he can score, create and defend. But, we would be surprised if the Reds were to ever make a move for Duncan.
The reality is, the Reds already possess a top right-back in Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Scouser has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.58 across the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.
Also, Alexander-Arnold is only 23 years of age, so his career is far from finished. Therefore, the Reds don't need to be signing a right-back for quite some time.
Despite that being the case, Duncan should never give up his dream of representing Liverpool.
