"It’s impossible not to talk about Mohamed Salah" - Paul Merson ahead of the FA Cup final

Pundit Paul Merson believes that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah could be the difference in this weekend's FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

The Egyptian international has struggled lately. Salah has only scored two goals in his last 10 appearances for the Reds.

Despite that being the case, Merson is confident that the 29-year-old could win Liverpool the FA Cup final on Saturday.

He told Sportskeeda the following: “Ahead of a cup final, it’s impossible not to talk about Mohamed Salah, who recently proclaimed himself as the best player in the world in his position.

“I’d have to agree with him, as he’s a bit of a freak each time he plays and he turns up in all the big games.

“Salah is an absolutely unbelievable player and every young kid who aspires to make it as a footballer should look at what he’s prepared to do to keep himself at the very top.

“I don’t think Salah has got a point to prove despite his barren run in recent weeks, but everyone dreams of scoring at Wembley in a cup final, so it’ll be no different for him!”

Anfield Watch Verdict

It is common knowledge that Salah is a world-class player. Therefore, we completely agree with Merson that the Egyptian international has the ability to win the FA Cup final for Liverpool.

The winger has scored some big goals in big games for the Reds. The 2019 Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur is the most obvious example.

So, we are backing Salah to have an impact against Chelsea this weekend. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp benched the forward against Aston Villa midweek to give him a rest ahead of the FA Cup final.

He should be ready to go for Saturday. We wish Salah and the Reds all the best for the match.
