"It's good for all of us" - Jurgen Klopp on his new signings

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has recently spoken about the players that the club have signed this summer.

The Reds have acquired Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

Klopp implied that the aforementioned names add strength and depth to his squad.

However, despite the new arrivals currently participating in the pre-season programme, the German said that they will need time to adjust to their new environment.

"We brought in some fresh blood as well, Luis (Diaz) we can say for sure is still in that category. And of course Darwin (Nunez) and Fabio (Carvalho). It's good for all of us," he told the Liverpool Echo, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

"It is important for everybody, you need to get used to each other again, that's how it is. But we can build on patterns we used in the past because the majority of the team have been together for a long time.

"We said it plenty of times, this game only works if you can work on the training pitch. It's not a game where you just play every day, you need time on the training pitch to work on different things, tactical stuff, and the only time really is pre-season.

"That's why we love it and use it as well as we can and train as often as possible. It makes it, some days just impossible to perform in some pre-season games on the highest level, but we get watched by the whole world and everyone is like 'oh my God, how does that look'.

"We cannot do everything in the highest moments. Sports science, if you train and you are never feeling the intensity then something is wrong with training. You can only get an effect from training if you reach a specific amount of kilometres, if you want.

"We have to do that and we did it. We will see if we are fresh on Saturday, I cannot promise that but we will try to fight with all we have."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Out of the new arrivals, Nunez is the player that excites us the most. Liverpool signed the striker from Benfica for a transfer fee of €100 million.

The aforementioned transfer fee highlights that Nunez is a top talent. The Uruguay international scored 34 goals and registered four assists in 41 appearances for Benfica last season.

But, as Klopp said, all new players need some time to adjust. Liverpool still have two pre-season games to complete before the 2022-23 Premier League campaign kicks off.

The Reds will face Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday (Community Shield). To conclude the pre-season, Liverpool will welcome Strasbourg to Anfield on Sunday (friendly).
