Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given his verdict on his team's form heading into the Merseyside derby.

The Reds have won their past two Premier League games. Liverpool secured a 9-0 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield last Saturday.

The Reds then beat Newcastle United 2-1 at home last night. Klopp's team will face Everton at Goodison Park next Saturday.

The German has said the following ahead of the match.

"It’s exciting at least, let me say it like this. We know we have to improve. Really we know that," Klopp told the club's official website.

"How I said, when we played football we were really good, even tonight against an opponent who threw everything in between us and the goal. That’s the truth.

"And that’s what we have to do now, consistently playing football. There are moments when you have to force it but you cannot force it, force it, force it and then hope all of a sudden you can start playing football.

"We obviously need still to make a few steps to be as good as we can be. But the next game will be a proper fight, I’m not sure we should think too much about playing football, it will be a proper fight and we have to be ready for that.

"Then we will see what we get from it."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Everton have had a tough start to the season. The Toffees have only secured three points from five top-flight fixtures.

So, going on form, Liverpool should be beating Everton this weekend. But, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to Premier League football.

Everton won't give Liverpool an easy game. They will be desperate to stop us claiming the three points.

The Reds will have to be at their best if they are to beat Everton on Saturday.
