"It's a cool partnership" - Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool's new forward line
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a fan of his new forward line.
Since 2017, the German had Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino leading the club's attack.
However, with Mane signing for Bayern Munich this summer and Firmino becoming more of a squad player in recent times, Klopp has had to delve into the transfer market.
In the past eight months, the 55-year-old has acquired Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
Liverpool's new front line incorporates Salah, Nunez and Diaz. Klopp had the following to say about his new attack.
As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, he told the club's official website the following: "It's a cool partnership, definitely. They are both determined to score and be in the decisive areas. Mo is in a really good moment. Darwin is settling in. Luis missed the goal vs Fulham and that would help him massively.
"This department was not our problem last week."
Anfield Watch Verdict
Salah, Mane and Firmino won Liverpool the two biggest trophies in club football - the Champions League and Premier League title.
But, all good things do come to an end. The reality is, players move on from football clubs.
However, we are excited about what Salah, Nunez and Diaz can achieve together. The new front three looked reasonably sharp against Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend.
Both Salah and Nunez found the back of the net. It would be fair to assume that the new forward line will not hit its peak for quite some time.
The aforementioned players still need to get used to playing alongside each other.
