"It's a big tie" - James Milner previews Champions League clash against Inter Milan
Liverpool midfielder James Milner has given his thoughts on the club's upcoming Champions League last-16 tie against Inter Milan.
The Reds cruised through the group stages of Europe's elite competition. Jurgen Klopp's side won all six games to finish on top of Group B.
Despite that being the case, Milner is not getting carried away. The Englishman has acknowledged that Liverpool will have to perform well to defeat Inter Milan across two legs.
Milner further implied that Edin Dzeko will be the Serie A side's biggest threat in the last-16 tie.
As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the 36-year-old told the club's official website the following: "It's a big tie. They're a very good team, I think they're top of the league at the moment. Edin [Dzeko] is still banging them up top as well – he's a goal machine and he will score goals wherever he plays." "It's a tough draw – we know that. But we have to concentrate on the games before that, and hopefully we can take some good form by putting in some good results and performances in these upcoming games and take a bit of momentum into that Champions League tie."Anfield Watch Verdict
Milner is spot on with his assessment of Inter Milan. They are a very good side.
Inter Milan currently sit at the top of the Serie A table. Therefore, Liverpool will need to be near their best to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
However, we are confident that the Reds will be able to overcome Inter Milan. Liverpool have played in two Champions League finals under Klopp (2018 and 2019).
Therefore, the Reds are clearly one of the best teams in Europe. The first leg will take place on the 16th of February at the San Siro.
The second leg will kick-off on the 8th of March at Anfield.
