"It will not happen often" - Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool's victory over Bournemouth

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given his verdict on last Saturday's Premier League fixture against Bournemouth at Anfield.

The Reds secured a 9-0 victory over the Cherries. Klopp said that it's unlikely Liverpool will record such a big win again this season.

But, the German took nothing away from his team's performance during his post-match press conference.

“9-0 is a strange result. It will not happen often,” Klopp said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“With a combination of the weather we had today, it will probably never happen again. It would be too much coincidence.

“But it is very important. It was needed. It was not that we worked less in the last eight weeks. We were all in a really good mood. We really liked what we saw most of the time, but then we didn’t get it on the ground.

“You have to turn a few other screws but that’s the job. When it then works out like today it’s fantastic. Everybody should celebrate today. Let’s go out, have a nice weekend. Great. But we are very close to Newcastle already. Perfect weekend.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool were exceptional against Bournemouth. The Reds were coming off a 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

So, Liverpool had to bounce back and they did. After four games, the Reds sit in ninth-place on the Premier League table.

With that being the case, Liverpool have a fair bit of work to do if they are to challenge for the title this season.

Liverpool will face Newcastle United at Anfield on Wednesday night. The Magpies secured a 3-3 draw against reigning champions Manchester City at St James' Park just over a week ago.

Therefore, Liverpool will have to play well to claim the three points against Newcastle.
