"It will be difficult" - Giovanni van Bronckhorst on facing Liverpool

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has opened up ahead of his team's Champions League group stage clash against Liverpool at Anfield tonight.

The 47-year-old has admitted that the Reds will be difficult to beat, as they are "one of the best teams in Europe".

However, Van Bronckhorst sees tonight as a great opportunity for his side.

“They (Liverpool) are a good team so it will be difficult - they are one of the best teams in Europe," he told The Scotsman, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

“It is a huge stage for us to perform on – for the club and the players. Liverpool are a quality side so it will be a historic match for both teams.

“Liverpool have quality players and a fantastic coach so we are preparing for the best side we can face tomorrow. It is a huge step up in competition but we are ready to embrace the challenge - it is a difficult place to come but we are coming here with belief.

"Liverpool have conceded more goals than normal recently but they will come out tomorrow to try and get a positive result.

"We lost our first game and we have no points. We know the challenge we face against a really good side. We know we need results and that's what we need to do. We're coming here to get a result. That's our intention."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool should be defeating Rangers tonight. The Reds have been one of the best sides in Europe in recent years.

However, Liverpool have struggled in the early stages of the 2022-23 campaign. The Reds have only won two of their opening seven Premier League fixtures.

So, Rangers will fancy themselves to at least get a point at Anfield. But, hopefully we see an improved Liverpool tonight. Only time will tell if that is to be the case.

The game will kick-off at 8:00pm UK time. We wish the Reds all the best ahead of the fixture.
