"It will be a really hard game" - Thibaut Courtois on facing Liverpool

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has given his verdict on Liverpool.

The Reds will face the La Liga side in the Champions League final. The match will take place at the Stade de France on the 28th of May.

With that being the case, Courtois was asked to give his thoughts on Liverpool. The shot-stopper was very complimentary towards the Reds.

As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, the shot-stopper told beIN SPORTS the following: “Liverpool are playing really amazingly this season, so it will be a really hard game.

“The only good thing for us is that we aren’t playing anymore for anything, we can rest really well for that game, whereas they are playing for the Premier League, so for them it will be a bit harder."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Courtois is spot on about Liverpool having a very good season. The Reds have won the League Cup and could potentially claim three more trophies.

But, Courtois does raise a very good point. Real Madrid can somewhat relax between now and the Champions League final, as they have already secured the La Liga title.

Liverpool on the other hand are in a very tight battle with Manchester City for the Premier League title. With four games to go, the Citizens possess a one-point lead over the Reds in the table.

The race for the trophy could take quite a bit out of Liverpool physically and mentally before the Champions League final comes around. The Reds will also face Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in just over a week.

However, we are backing Jurgen Klopp's side to deal with the intense fixture list. The Reds do possess a very good squad after all.
