"It was unbelievable" - Kostas Tsimikas on winning the FA Cup

Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas has opened up on winning the 2022 FA Cup final.

The Reds came up against Chelsea back in May. The game finished 0-0 after extra time, so penalties were required to separate the two teams.

Tsimikas had the opportunity to win Liverpool the match from the penalty spot and he took it with both hands.

The Greece international has recently given his opinion on the events that transpired that particular day.

"It was unbelievable, I think this is the best memory I have in football - this penalty, this trophy I gave to the team. For me, it was something special," he told The Anfield Wrap, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

"Hopefully I can live it again, I can have this feeling again. It was absolutely unique. The way I ran to our fans, I saw everybody was very very happy. Everybody wanted this cup and I'm very very glad to bring it back to Liverpool."

Anfield Watch Verdict

It was brilliant to see Tsimikas win Liverpool the FA Cup. The left-back is a squad player at Anfield. He won't always get the opportunity to be the hero.

Before May, the Reds had not won the FA Cup since 2006. So, we certainly enjoyed watching Liverpool lift the trophy.

The Reds also managed to claim the League Cup last season. However, Jurgen Klopp's team narrowly missed out on the Premier League title and Champions League.

Last season, champions Manchester City finished one-point ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table and Real Madrid defeated the Reds 1-0 in the Champions League final.

Hopefully Klopp's side can go again. He has added Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay to his squad.

So, hopefully we see Liverpool go to another level this campaign.
