"It is a long, long time" - Andy Robertson opens up on his injury
Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has opened up on the injury that he picked up back in early September.
The Scotland international missed five weeks of football as a result. However, Robertson made his return as a second half substitute against Rangers at the Ibrox Stadium on Wednesday night.
Post-game, the 28-year-old revealed that it was a long five weeks on the sideline.
As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, he told the Liverpool Echo the following: "Look it's been five weeks, it's not too long for the outside world but for someone who is not used to being out injured it is a long, long time.
"It was important to take time and let the injury heal and then it was about the rehab and trying to get back as quickly as I can. That's always the way.
"I am not a very good patient, I wanted to get out of the treatment room as quickly as possible but I had to be careful with this one and I am just glad to be back to fitness, hopefully that's all behind me now."
Anfield Watch Verdict
It was brilliant to see Robertson back in action. The left-back has been a terrific player for Liverpool.
Robertson is a defender by trade, but he is superb going forward. The Scotland international has found the back of the net eight times and secured 55 assists in 233 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.
Robertson is considered to be one of the best left-backs in the world by many who follow football. So, we are happy that he is back.
It will be interesting to see if Robertson is fit enough to start against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
