"It happens to all of us" - Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool's lack of confidence

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has spoken about the lack of confidence within his playing group at the moment.

The Reds have been well off the pace so far this season. In terms of the Premier League, Liverpool have only secured two wins from seven matches.

The Reds were also defeated 4-1 by Napoli at the San Paolo (Champions League) last month.

Klopp has given his verdict on the aforementioned situation.

As quoted by AW on Twitter, he told Liverpoolfc.com the following: "Do you think Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment is at the top of his confidence? It happens to all of us. Lionel Messi last season was pretty much the same.

"You have to take a step in the right direction and when you're ready, it's back (the confidence). Even when we were 3-2 up against Brighton, we gave them an attack and the confidence was gone.

"In individual sports you can fight yourself through it. In team sports, you have to do it together. It can be more complicated."

Anfield Watch Verdict

We can see where Klopp is coming from. Confidence is hard to gain, which means that it is also very easy to lose.

Liverpool have won the two biggest trophies in club football under the guidance of Klopp - the Champions League and the Premier League title.

So, the Reds are more than capable. But, as of right now, Liverpool appear to be lacking confidence.

The players just don't have the same 'swagger' that they used to possess. Hopefully things take a turn, otherwise the season will be gone in a heartbeat.
