Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni has warned his teammates ahead of their last-16 Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield tonight.

The Reds possess a 2-0 lead heading into the second leg. Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah found the back of the net for Liverpool at the San Siro last month (first leg).

Bastoni said that it will be an "unbelievable feeling" playing at Anfield. However, the 22-year-old has warned his teammates that they will need to switched on against an "excellent" set of players if they wish to progress to the quarter-finals of Europe's elite competition.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Bastoni told the BBC the following: “To play at Anfield will be an unbelievable feeling. This summer when I played at Wembley [Euros], I was able to see the passion in English stadiums. "It’s an important step personally and for the team to understand what it’s like to play at the top level. “We need to be careful because they are excellent players, some of the best in Europe, but if you're scared or if you can’t get up for these kinds of games, then you’re in the wrong job. I can’t wait to get out there.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We fully expect Liverpool to defeat Inter Milan tonight and progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Yes, Inter Milan are a very good side. There is a reason why they sit in second-place on the Serie A table.

But, there is no denying that Liverpool are the better side. The Reds have played in two Champions League finals in the past four years.

This current Inter Milan side have not featured in a major European final. The experience Liverpool have gained in recent times is invaluable.

Therefore, we do expect that to show tonight. But, only time will tell which side will progress to the next stage of the Champions League.
